Canon Name: Mobile Suit Gundam Wing
Canon Point: The entire Gundam Wing tv series and the Blind Target radio drama/manga. Please note that his early history has been rewritten due to the creation of the novel. So here I'll post his original origin story so you don't have to follow the mess Frozen Teardrop made of it:. Heero's family is unknown and Odin is not his father in the original version of his history.
Original History: Not much is known about the early history of the boy who would become known as Heero Yuy, He was born sometime in the year AC. 180 and that is about it. What is known is that he traveled with Odin Lowe, the assassin who killed the original Heero Yuy (the politician). Odin taught him how to use a gun and how to survive on his own. In return for this Heero pretended to be his son, giving the assassin the cover he needed for missions. During the year AC 188 while Odin was sent to assassinate General Septum, Heero was sent to help the colonial rebels who were in battle with the Specials. Heero's job was to take out the communications tower that was operated by Lucrezia Noin, but only managed to hit Treize Khushrenada who had moved his suit in to protect the tower (this causes Treize to meet Leia Barton, and thus causing Mariemaia's birth). Escaping the battle, Heero returned to Odin only to find the man mortally wounded. As Odin died, he gave Heero advice that he would live by and would tell others to do the same. Live by your emotions. Once the assassin was dead, the boy began to wander the colonies until coming across Doctor J in an alley way. The scientist thought he had good eyes and asked if he wanted to become a gundam pilot. Having no where to go, he accepted the offer.
In AC 194, Heero was sent to destroy an Alliance base on a colony. After planting explosives around the base, he took to relaxing before completing his mission. While laying in the grass in a park, a little girl with a dog came up to him and asked if he was lost. Sitting up, Heero responds by saying he had been lost since the day he was born. The little girl gave him a yellow flower before running off. Later that night he detonated the explosives, but due to a miscalculation the explosion causes a Leo mobile suit to fall against an apartment building and exploded. The entire area was in ruins, and Heero could only stand there watching in horror, and clutching the yellow flower in his hands. In the morning he came back to examine the ruins, coming across the body of the little girls dead dog. It is hinted that he buried both the dog and little girl out of remorse. This incident, and the self-destruction device found on his space suit, cause Dekim Barton, leader of the Barton Foundation, to have Heero retrained. This retraining was to remove any feeling that the boy had in order for him to become their perfect weapon.
At the beginning of AC 195, Doctor J informed him of the Barton Foundation's plan to kill Vice Foreign Minister Darlian as he may have found out about Operation Meteor. Doctor J gives him three options; to aid in the assassination of the Foreign Minister, save the man and stop the attempt, or just ignore the whole thing. Looking down at Relena, the daughter of the Minister, he decided to save her father's life. Later on he visits the grave of the little girl, still in ruins from his botched mission. Standing in front of their grave, he pulls out a pistol and points it at his head, planning on killing himself. However Doctor J finds him and gives him another set of three options; to kill himself, kill Doctor J and run away, or go through with Operation Meteor. He decides on going through with the operation.
On April 7th AC 195, the boy climbed into the cockpit of Wing Gundam ready to carry out the now altered version of Operation Meteor. On that day Doctor J gave him his new codename before leaving, that of Heero Yuy. With that he took off for Earth.
Personality: The first thing people notice about Heero is his stoic demeanour. He appears to be cold hearted and emotionless, especially whenever on the battlefield. This is due to his belief that soldiers who are emotional will only experience heart break and therefore should fight without emotional attachments. Whenever given a mission, he becomes focused on that, almost to the point of becoming single minded. He plans things out very carefully, follows mission orders to a T, and will work himself to the point of complete exhaustion. Whenever a mission goes wrong, such as when he accidentally killed the pacifists, he will berate himself and accept his death as a means of punishment for failure.
Although appearing to be cold hearted and emotionless Heero happens to be a kind hearted person who, as described by Doctor J, feels sympathy towards and understands the hardships faced by the colony residents. He shows this side towards Relena on numerous occasions, giving her advice and the confidence to be a strong person. He is also occasionally compassionate and willing to risk his life to save his fellow comrades. Instead of killing Duo Maxwell when he was captured, he instead rescued him and set him up with a life as a student. He gave Trowa the advice to follow his emotions, and Quatre the confidence needed to use the ZERO system and lead their team against the mobile dolls. In Endless Waltz he tries to show Wufei the problem with joining Mariemaia's army by explaining that soldiers were no longer needed and that he needed to give up on Treize. At the end of the movie Heero symbolically shot Mariemaia to end her suffering.
He feels little self-worth and is willing to risk his life on dangerous missions, even ones that could cost him his life. In the series he expresses that life is cheap, especially his own life. The first time he is introduced in the series he tried to kill himself by detonating his space suit and gundam in order to protect his identity and the mission. In the third episode he refused to open his parachute, trying to end in life only to open it at the last moment when Relena called his name. The third time was when he chose to self-detonate under Doctor J's orders. At the end of the series he decided that he would be one the to destroy the power core of Libra, which would have killed him had Zechs not stepped in. He also risked death shooting down the last piece of Libra. Ultimately he decided to survive rather than die. When talking to Relena he revealed that she is so much stronger than he could ever be.
He also feels a great sense of self-loathing and remorse towards the innocents he has killed, especially towards the little girl who haunted him in Endless Waltz. This and his dedication to the mission make him rather suicidal. In order to repent for killing the Alliance's pacifists, he visited each of the families and offered them the chance to shoot and kill him.. It bothers him constantly and in the Episode Zero manga, he put a gun to his head in order to kill himself for it. He is afraid of losing those he is close to and because of his, he doesn't allow people to come close to him willingly. He would rather live and work alone than becoming close to someone. It takes a lot for him to come and trust an individual but once they do, it is a bond that will last.
There might just be a little insanity thrown in the mix. He does laugh in the middle of battle sometimes, but not often. Besides, one would have to be insane to accept the job of gundam pilot.
Abilities: Throughout the series Heero has shown numerous near super-human abilities. On one occasion he is shown bending metal bars aside to access a control panel while preventing the launch of missiles at one OZ base. He also broke a fencing foil and stabbed it through his opponent's helmet just to scare him. He also can regulate his breathing, heart rate, and brainwave patterns and did so to trick Sally Po into believing he was still unconscious when he awoke in the OZ hospital. It was hinted that he may have heightened healing as he was able to walk normally on his leg a short while after breaking (and setting) it, though the passage of time was never really clear cut on the show. Another testament to this is the fact that he did survive self-destructing in his mobile suit.
In addition to those attributes, Heero is an incredibly skilled mobile suit pilot and only one of two people who learned to master the ZERO (Zoning & Emotional Range Omitted) System and even developed a modified version for Quatre to use at the end of the Eve Wars against the mobile dolls. This is important because of the problems the system causes the pilot. The ZERO system interfaces with the brain of the pilot in order to decrease reaction times in battle. It's calculations give the pilot awareness of future outcomes and possible courses of action in battle. The side effect of interfacing with the system is that the human brain cannot handle the raw data and causes the pilot to hallucinate. Heero is able to now take in that data and properly use it to his advantage in battle, no longer subjected to the side effects of the system. In the last few episodes of the series as well as the movie, it is hinted that he may be mentally linked with the system. While not in battle he communicates with the system verbally, getting and understanding responses. When Peacemillion rammed into Libra, he knew it would happen a few seconds ahead of time while standing in a non-windowed hallway. In the movie when he sank Wing Zero in the ocean, the ZERO system woke him up and reminded him that he had a mission to complete.
Outside of a mobile suit he is skilled at hand to hand combat as well as computer hacking.

He had almost killed Relena. That was the most unforgivable thing he had ever done.
Sitting down at his workstation, he pressed his hands to his face while trying to recall how it ended. He could see Relena standing there, eyes closed and ready to accept her fate. Then he heard something and turned quickly to find out what it was. A kid? Before was sure, everything turned to blackness. Letting out a sigh, he reached and grabbed a pocket knife off the table and flicked it open. Carefully he drew the blade down his forearm, watching black blood well up and roll down the side. Black blood with shimmers -- the blood of someone who now belonged to the machine.
That was when he lost it.
Throwing the knife to the side, he stood up and threw everyone off his workstation in a swift movement. Then went the table. Eventually the rest of the hangar ended yup experiencing the same fate. Things had been thrown and broken in an attempt to deal with the horrible things he had thought and tried to do. And once he was finished, he stormed out and find some place else to sulk, uncaring that his arm was still bleeding.
